Big jam session (open to everyone) led by Anouk Sanczuk

Folk ball  |  Sunday 6 pm – Espace SCHMITZ

As befits a music and dance festival, all eager musicians are invited to take the stage – the more, the merrier.

For a better organization of the event, we asked a musician to choose a repertoire beforehand and propose simple arrangements and also supervise the participants on that very day. This year, this challenge was proposed to the violinist Anouk Sanczuk.

Anouk Sanczuk began playing the violin at the age of 4 using the Suzuki method. She completed her master's degree in Jazz & Light Music, violin option, at the ArteZ conservatory in Arnhem (Netherlands). In her final year, she followed an Erasmus+ programme at the Centre de Musique de Didier Lockwood (CMDL) in Dammary-lès-Lys (France). She also has a passion for folk music.

She is currently active in several groups: Flairck, Broes, Fiston, Duo De Schepper-Sanczuk, Room13 Orchestra, and gives folk and jazz fiddle lessons at the academies in Ypres and Genk. For more information: https://www.anouksanczuk.be/

Practical infos :

  • no need to register
  • the pieces can be accessed both as sheet music (with harmony and second voice) and recordings using the following link :

  • participants are welcome to take part in the entire jam session, but they can choose to play only some pieces if they want to or if they feel more at ease
  • to prepare this jam session, we invited you to come to the workshop with Jonathan De Neck on Sunday 11:00 am to 2:30pm at the Espace LEJEUNE (salle)
