La bergère

concert (Fr)

The Shepherdess, featuring Sylvie Berger, Julien Biget, and Thomas Restoin, is a musical trio where the words of contemporary poets and those of the oral tradition intertwine in a vibrant tapestry, where the real and the imaginary converge through the combined graces of baroque blues and poetry shifting towards folk song.

Emily  and the simon's

Bal Folk (Be-GB)

Emily & The Simons is a Belgo-English folk trio formed in November 2016 in Yorkshire. These three musicians share their taste for a contrasting dance around Emily's compositions, inspired by the energy of European dance floors and encounters that arise through dance. They distil nostalgic mazurkas, scottishes that help you forget all your worries, and bourrées that align your vertebrae. They leave plenty of room for improvisation and the camaraderie that unites them to take you into the dance.

Boeuf Wallon

Born at the Royal Higher Institute of Music and Pedagogy (IMEP) in Namur in 2018, the Melchior Project offers a deep dive into the immense musical heritage bequeathed by the oral tradition, across the four corners of Wallonia. It also provides tools to enable everyone to engage with this repertoire, to reinvent it, to reclaim it...This bal/bœuf will be open to all those who wish to play Walloon music, much to the delight of the dancers. This bœuf will be guided and prepared by the team of the Melchior Project (notably Julien and Marie-Hélène Maréchal).

Fyndus

Bal Folk (Be)

Welcome to the wonderful world of Fyndus, a new folk music duo made up of Emma Coopman (vocals, Celtic harp, and diatonic accordion) and Thomas Hoste (electro-acoustic alto hurdy-gurdy and sound effects).

Together, these artists offer music to listen to or to dance to. Enjoy their musical stories and let yourself be enchanted by the magical harmony of their instruments.

Topette

Bal Folk (GB)

Topette!! occupies a unique place in the current folk and traditional music landscape. The result of the collaboration of five renowned musicians from two countries, this group embodies the kind of perfect idea that, if it didn't already exist, should have been invented. However, Topette!! is not just a simple musical project. It is a fully-fledged group, perfectly polished, as rarely seen. Topette!! is a true collective, united as much by the joy of being together as by their shared musical vision..

Julien Cartonnet is a virtuoso of the bagpipes and the banjo. The innate melodic and harmonic sense of violinist James Delarre makes him the ideal partner for accordion virtuoso Andy Cutting. The infectious percussion of Laurence Hunt and the distinctive bass lines of Barn Stradling complete an irresistible sound that makes you want to dance...
